IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING CHANGES TO OPERATING PROCEDURES AT LISCARD GROUP PRACTICE
Due to the ongoing situation with Coronavirus, we are taking measures in line with guidance shared by NHS England and Public Health authorities to minimise risks associated with the virus. In order to protect our patients and staff and we are asking our patients support with this.
What does this mean for you?
On Monday 16th March 2020 we minimised the number of patients attending the Practice for face to face appointments.
This means that all patients are required to contact the practice by telephone to request an appointment, providing details of their need. (Patients who are unwilling to give a member of staff a reason for needing a face to face appointment will be refused one.) A member of the clinical team will then phone you back to discuss your need, and wherever possible this need will be met over the telephone. You will be asked some screening questions to minimise the risk. If the clinician deems that you require a face to face appointment, one will be arranged. Please co-operate with any instructions you are given and be aware the member of staff you see may be wearing protective equipment in your consultation.
From April 2022, we began offering some face to face appointments where clinically appropriate without the need for a telephone consultation first. This is continuously reviewed by the Partners and Practice Manager.
If you become unwell with symptoms of Coronavirus before your appointment- do not come to the surgery. Ring our reception team and they will amend your appointment as appropriate.
In June 2022, the wearing of face masks was relaxed in clinical areas, however due to a rise in local cases, our clinicians are continuing to wear face masks during face to face appointments and we are encouraging our patients to do the same.
Prescriptions, Referral Letters and Sick (Fit) Notes
Where possible we will be sending these items electronically. Please be prepared to update your contact including email address details with our administrative team.
This is an ideal time to register for online prescriptions and to nominate a pharmacy for us to send your prescription to. This way there is no need for you to risk visiting the surgery. Please ask any member of staff for details.
Please remain courteous to our staff at this difficult time.
Our priority is the health and safety of all our patients and staff.
Your understanding is much appreciated.
