Coronavirus Covid-19 Updates

CORONAVIRUS

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING CHANGES TO OPERATING PROCEDURES AT LISCARD GROUP PRACTICE

Due to the ongoing situation with Coronavirus, we are taking measures in line with guidance shared by NHS England and Public Health authorities to minimise risks associated with the virus. In order to protect our patients and staff and we are asking our patients support with this.

What does this mean for you?

Appointments:

From Monday 16th March 2020 we need to start minimising the number of patients attending the Practice for face to face appointments. This means that all patients are required to contact the practice by telephone to request an appointment, providing details of their need. (Patients who are unwilling to give a member of staff a reason for needing a face to face appointment will be refused one.) A member of the clinical team will then phone you back to discuss your need, and wherever possible this need will be met over the telephone. You will be asked some screening questions to minimise the risk. If the clinician deems that you require a face to face appointment, one will be arranged. Please co-operate with any instructions you are given and be aware the member of staff you see may be wearing protective equipment in your consultation.

Existing appointments:

All pre-existing appointments are being reviewed by the clinical team. Wherever possible this will take place over the telephone. If your appointment is needs to be rearranged or changed to a telephone appointment, our administrative team will contact you to advise you of this. If the appointment needs to be face to face, you will be contacted prior the appointment and asked some screening questions to ensure it is appropriate for you to attend the Practice.

If you decide not to attend a booked appointment, please help us by cancelling the appointment.

If you become unwell with symptoms of Coronavirus before your appoinemt- do not come to the suregry. Ring our reception team and they will amend your appointment as appropriate.

Prescriptions, Referral Letters and Sick Notes

If you are collecting any of these from the surgery, please get a WELL person to collect them.

Where possible we will be sending these items electronically. Please be prepared to update your contact including email address details with our administrative team.

This is an ideal time to register for online prescriptions and to nominate a pharmacy for us to send your prescription to. This way there is no need for you to risk visiting the surgery. Please ask any member of staff for details.

We will continue to update our patients as this remains a very fluid situation and your understanding is very much appreciated. Please remain courteous to our staff at this difficult time.

Our priority is the health and safety of all our patients and staff.

Thank you.
