Appointments

Appointments

An appointment can be made to see a doctor or nurse by telephone. We advise you to ring at 8am on the day.

The practice endeavours to have face to face and telephone appointments available every day.

We also have a limited number of pre-bookable appointments that can be booked up to 2 weeks in advance.

Our reception team will ask you the nature of your call. This helps them to decide who to book you in with or where to direct you so that you speak to the most appropriate healthcare professional to deal with your query.

Depending on your condition, you may not need to see a GP and may be offered an appointment with one of our other highly skilled team members:

  • Advanced Clinical Practitioner
  • Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
  • Social Prescribing Link Worker
  • Health Coach
  • First Contact Physio
  • Clinical Pharmacist
  • Care Co-ordinator

These are specially trained members of our team who can provide you with more specialised, individual care tailored to you.

More information on each of these roles and how they can help you can be found on Wallasey Wellbeing’s Facebook page

Please let reception know if you cannot keep appointments as they can be given to other patients, even at short notice.

Need A Weekend Or Evening Appointment?

Appointments with a GP or Practice Nurse are available on Monday evenings at the practice, as well as limited appointments at other local practices on other evenings, and with a GP on a Saturday at the Walk In Centre, by appointment only. They are pre-bookable up to 2 weeks in advance. Please call us to book.

Online Consultations

PATCHS enables GP practices to offer online consultations to their patients. This allows patients to submit their symptoms or requests to their own GP electronically and offers around the clock NHS self-help information, signposting to services, and a symptom checker.

Chaperone

During your consultation, it may be necessary for you to be examined. You may bring a friend or relative, or have a nurse or trained member of staff to accompany you. Please ask at reception if you would like a chaperone.

Medical Students

Occasionally, you may be asked if you would mind a medical student who is in training with one of the doctors, sitting in on your consultation. You may request them not to be present during your consultation without it affecting your medical care in any way.
